Miami's MiMo District a.k.a. Biscayne Corridor is getting fancier by the minute. Trina Turk and Mr. Turk were among the first upscale retailers to lease space in the area near the pricey Miami Design District and Midtown. And, earlier this month, fashion designer Julian Chang set up shop at 6669 Biscayne.
Now Venezuelan couture/bridal designer Angel Sanchez, is launching his first showroom-atelier at 7521 Biscayne Boulevard, a collaboration with interior designer Christopher Coleman, says The Real Deal. The duo is leasing this two-story, 1,950-square-foot historic structure for four years at $51 per, says Mauricio Zapata, partner in Chariff Realty who brokered the deal. Zapata also represented the owner, MiMo investor Alex Karakhanian, when he bought the building in January for $1.45 million.
Sanchez + Coleman Studio will show a collection of evening and bridal wear, as well as art, furniture and design objects in a gallery setting. ETA: September 2016.
The main floor will be devoted to fashion, where his cocktail dresses will be priced between $3,000 to $4,500; evening dresses from $4,500 to $7,000; and bridal gowns from $7,000 to $20,000 or more. The mezzanine level above will be focused on interior design, he said. - See more at: http://therealdeal.com/miami/2016/05/18/miamis-mimo-keeps-gentrifying-angel-sanchez-and-christopher-coleman-bringing-high-end-fashion-and-design-to-mimo/#sthash.OZ0tC491.dpuf
